Your Feedback, Our Response (Pt.2)

Last month, we sent an email with a breakdown of data from our teacher survey. That email mostly discussed broad trends. However, there were more specific suggestions from survey responses that were also incredibly helpful.

We've now implemented changes based on these suggestions, and we wanted to share. Each change is minor, but we hope that (together) they make our materials smoother to navigate and easier to use.

1) Segmenting YouTube Video Progress Bars

Now, when viewing any of our videos on YouTube, the progress bar (the red bar on the bottom that keeps track of the video time) is segmented. So, if you hover over the progress bar, it will show you when certain subtopics begin and end within the video.

This is particularly helpful for review and studying. The update allows students to directly click to the place in the video with the specific subtopic they'd like to review.

2) PDF Versions of Slide Decks

Under the "Teacher Items" for each lesson page, you'll see that a PDF version of the slide decks is now available for every lesson.

Some teachers mentioned in their surveys that our slides, especially ones with math formulas, got jumbled by their differing versions of PowerPoint. So, they suggested we also share PDF copies, which are "jumble-free!"

3) Dedicated Page for our Discussion Norms

Some folks mentioned that the Google Drive link to our suggested Discussion Norms document was faulty. So, we've made a dedicated page to house our suggested Discussion Norms: skewthescript.org/discussion-norms

You can directly download the document from that page. In addition, the page will capture any updates to the document that are made over time. We're now working to replace every old link with this new one in our curriculum materials.

Of course, our materials can always be improved and updated. If you see a gap in our materials or have an idea for a useful new feature, please reach out. We'd love to hear from you!

Let’s skew it!
